Senior Trader Petrochemicals

As a Senior Trader in Petrochemicals, you will be reporting to the Head of the Singapore office and part of our journey, supporting Kolmar’s further growth. If you are passionate about trading, working with diverse teams around the globe in a fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you. 
You will be responsible for the following (but not limited) tasks: 
  • Develop and manage profitable petrochemical trading activities across Asia, with particular focus on identifying and originating new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, end-users, and other key counterparties across the region
  • Take ownership of the full trading cycle, from deal origination through negotiation, execution, and risk management
  • Develop both term and spot business, including opportunities for cross-regional and cross-office collaboration within Kolmar
  • Manage trading positions and exposures within the company’s approved credit and risk framework
  • Work closely with operations, chartering, finance, and other Kolmar offices to ensure efficient execution and maximize trading profitability
  • Support the continued development of the Singapore trading platform and, where appropriate, mentor more junior team members

Your profile

  • 5 to 8 years’ relevant working experience in international trading in the petchem industry
  • Experience or good understanding of biofuels, renewable products and related markets would be an added advantage
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, able to build fruitful relationships with third parties, profit focused individual and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of the petrochemical markets including market dynamics, contract structuring and negotiations, transportation and storage contracts and operations, nomination procedures, operational risks, market risks and counterparty requirements 
  • Ability to structure innovative solutions to achieve Commercial Strategy in compliance with strict Credit, Risk and Legal guidelines 
  • Existing network and good relationships with counterparties
  • Excellent commercial, communication and analytical skills 
  • Strong and proven team player mentality 
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English (written and oral) is a requirement. Other international languages would be a plus
